Activation problems

Your claim token is the long one-time secret that starts with rm_claim_. It pairs the desktop app to your identity the first time you set up a machine.

”Invalid token” error

  • Check you pasted the whole thing. The token is long. If you typed it by hand or the copy got cut off, paste it again from your welcome email.
  • Check whether it was already used. Claim tokens are one-time-use. If you already paired successfully on this or another machine, the token is spent and you don’t need it again.
  • Check with your manager that it wasn’t revoked. Revoking a rep invalidates their token.

If all three check out, ask your manager to Reissue Token on your row in the portal. That sends a fresh one.

”Token expired” error

Claim tokens expire 30 days after they’re issued if they haven’t been used. Ask your manager to Reissue Token for a new one.

(Separately, the password-setup link in your welcome email expires after 7 days. If that link is dead but you’ve already paired the app, you don’t need it for calls; ask your manager to re-send the invite if you want portal access.)

I activated on the wrong machine

Each token pairs the first machine that uses it. If you paired a personal laptop by mistake and need it on your work laptop:

  1. Uninstall RingMentor from the personal machine.
  2. Ask your manager to Reissue Token for you.
  3. Install on the correct machine and pair with the new token.

The app says “Revoked”

Your manager has revoked this machine’s access. Contact them directly. They can Reissue Token to bring you back; this isn’t something support can override on its own.
